... an idea whose time has come! The DIAL HOPE 24-hour elephone outreach ministry was launched on September 10, 2000. Realizing that many people face illness, grief, sadness, financial stresses, or because of life's many other situations, Dr. Kunkel began to develop this ministry of outreach, providing hope, support, care and inspiration.
Our purpose is simple; to let those in despair know that God makes a difference in their lives, and that someone cares, providing gentle encouragement with words of support and inspiration. Because of the high volume of calls five lines handle more than 4,000 calls per month, which are received from every state and nine countries. Roger Kunkel joined the pastoral staff at First Presbyterian Church in 1998, after serving as Senior Pastor in Duluth, Minnesota, and Riverside, Illinois. A native of Parsons, Kansas, he graduated from Westminster College, Fulton, Missouri, where he received an award for "Outstanding Student and Citizen".
