Friend of Dial Hope, you haven't heard this in the New Year 2010, so here goes - TA-DA! The Gospel is never boring or ho-hum; it is always TA-DA!
Attitude is so important in life. The great coach Vince Lombardi once pointed out that football is 75% attitude. Attitude is the difference between defeat and victory, despair and hope, sadness and joy. Our lives are determined by attitude. If you change your attitude, you can change your life. Whatever we think about, dwell on, give ourselves to, is what controls our lives. Jesus realized this when he said, "Seek first the Kingdom of God and everything else will be taken care of." The apostle Paul said, "Don't let the world around you squeeze you into its mold." (Romans 12:2). It is our attitudes that determine who we are and what kind of world we really live in. Captain Eddie Rickenbacker once wrote these words,
"If you think about disaster you will get it. Brood about death and you will hasten your demise. Think positively and masterfully, with confidence and faith, and life becomes more secure, more fraught with action, richer in achievement and experience."
Friend of Dial Hope, you see, you can change your attitude and thus change your life! Your destiny is not a matter of chance. It is a matter of choice - no matter what your age, whether you are seven or ninety-eight. Let us say with Paul, "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." (Philippians 4:13).
Prayer: Nurturing God, source of life, light, love and hope, motivate us to strive for a closer walk with you. Fill our hearts with the good news, the TA-DA! of a joyful attitude. Help us to see possibilities of new beginnings because of Jesus Christ. In his name we pray. Amen. |
