A woman got on a bus with several young children in tow. The driver asked her, "Ma'am, are all these kids yours or are you going on a picnic?" The woman caught her breath, sighed, and said, "Yes, they're all mine... and my life ain't no picnic!"
Do you ever feel like this? Hemmed in by life? Many people do. But life can be more than just a daily grind if you really understand God... how much God loves you... and understand that God comes into the out-of-the-way places - into the nooks, the corners, the crevices - down deep inside where you feel trapped and dissatisfied.
To know that God is there at the point of your need when you need God makes the difference between merely existing and really living.
In the Gospel of Luke we read, "For it is the nations of the world that strive for its daily bread, and your Father knows that you need them. Instead, strive for his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well." (Luke 12:31).
Prayer: Lord, thank you, for that humerous statement by Yogi Berra, "Whenever you come to a fork in the road, take it." Sometimes we don't know where to turn. Help us to know you are with us every step of the way. Thank you, God. We love you. Amen. |
